Long, long ago, before the stars were born, the world was just a big, swirling cloud. Inside the cloud floated a golden egg. It was quiet. It was warm. And inside the egg, a giant named Pangu was fast asleep. He was waiting for the right time to wake up.
Suddenly, the giant opened his eyes. It was too dark! He couldn’t see anything. Pangu wanted to stretch his arms. He grabbed a magic axe and swung it with all his might. CRACK! The egg broke open with a sound like thunder.
